Solar, wind and storage, on a grid that is being rebuilt. Israel has the solar resource, the companies and the policy pressure, which makes this the fastest-growing energy route.
What the work actually is
You size and model systems, run the yield and economics, and manage the engineering side of projects that are as much financial as technical. The levelised cost of energy is the number everything is judged against, and learning to think in it is most of the transition from student to engineer here.
Storage is where the interesting problems have moved: how much, what chemistry, and what it does to the business case.
Wind is a small domestic market and a strong export skill, so it usually means working for a company that operates abroad.

What prepares you
Renewable energy is the core course. Thermodynamics 2 underpins the solar-thermal and storage side. Wind turbine aerodynamics if you are going that way, and it is genuinely specialised. Power plants gives you the grid-scale context that project work assumes.
