Mechatronics and embedded systems engineer
The person who makes the mechanical, the electrical and the code work as one thing. It is the most useful generalist role in the degree and the fastest route into equipment and automation companies.
What the work actually is
You specify motors and sensors, wire and condition the signals, write enough embedded code to close a loop, and integrate the result into a machine. When a test rig is needed, you build it, which is how most people first become useful in a research group or a startup.
The Israeli semiconductor equipment industry runs on this: Applied Materials, Nova and Camtek all need people who can make precision motion happen and diagnose it when it stops.
The job rewards breadth over depth, which is a real trade. You will rarely be the strongest at any one of the three disciplines and you will constantly be the only person who can see across them.

What prepares you
Basic electronics for mechanical engineering first, because the mechatronics lab is much harder without it. Then the mechatronics lab, which is where you actually build. Robotics and Dynamics and control add the theory to make the loops principled rather than tuned by feel. Signal processing helps the moment you have a noisy sensor.
