Control and GNC engineer
Guidance, navigation and control. The most mathematical route out of a mechanical degree, and the one the Israeli defence and space industry hires most consistently.
What the work actually is
You model a system in state space, work out what is observable and controllable, design the feedback, and then spend most of your time on everything the textbook left out: sensor noise, saturation, sampling, and what happens when a model parameter is twenty per cent off.
In defence and space this means guidance loops, attitude control and estimators. In automotive and mobility it means motion control and sensor fusion. The core theory is identical and the domain vocabulary is not.
Expect heavy simulation work and a slow, careful verification culture, because the failure modes are expensive.

What prepares you
Dynamics and control is the spine and everything else hangs off it. Applied feedback systems is the implementation half, and it is worth the Electrical Engineering approval to get. Analytical mechanics is not required by anyone and quietly makes you better at all of it. Orbital mechanics only if you are going to space, but then it is essential.
